"Building trust by sharing everyday moments is what matters most"
Streaming for over 10 hours a day isn't just about entertainment—it's about building genuine relationships that extend beyond the stream. For VR Chat-based VTuber Charmel, fan communication isn't just part of her job; it's woven into her daily life.
After experiencing the fatigue and drama that comes with traditional community platforms like Discord, Charmel discovered something different with Fancim M. Instead of managing complex group dynamics and dealing with fan conflicts, she found a way to connect authentically with her community through her own natural routine.

Her secret? It's not elaborate events or expensive giveaways. Charmel has built lasting fan relationships through something much simpler yet more powerful: consistent daily sharing. For creators wondering how to build long-term trust with their communities without burning out, her approach offers a refreshingly sustainable alternative.
In this post, we'll dive into how Charmel transformed fan care from an obligation into a natural part of her daily routine, and why she believes authentic connection beats flashy fan service every time.
"Streaming became my daily life, not just my job"
Q: Let's start with an introduction, Charmel.
Hey everyone! I'm Charmel, a live streamer and content creator. I mainly create VR Chat-based comedy content and spontaneous viewer participation content. Laughing and chatting with fans in real-time is just my everyday life, and outside of streaming hours, I share my daily life with fans through Fancim M.

Q: What got you into VTubing?
At first, I just enjoyed participating in other streamers' content. That naturally led me to start gaming streams, and later I saw Woowakgood's "Isekai Idol Audition" which sparked my interest in VR equipment, so I transitioned to virtual streaming. I've always loved tech gadgets anyway, so virtual content was a perfect fit for me. It wasn't some grand plan—I just thought "this looks fun" and went for it.
Q: How did you start using Fancim M, and what did you like about it?
I initially used Discord, but fan interactions became difficult due to cliques forming, too much off-topic chatter, and trolling issues. Fancim M had a completely different structure. Since it's centered on 1:1 chat, fans communicate with just me individually, and I can focus solely on each fan. It's so much more comfortable.
I love Fancim M's basic structure. It's not complicated, and it preserves that emotional connection so I can chat with fans without any pressure. Actually, fans react first most of the time, getting excited like "Chamel liked my message!" Even during breaks after streaming, Fancim M has become part of my daily routine.
"Fans love seeing behind the scenes of my non-streaming life"
Q: When do fans react most positively on Fancim M?
Right after streams end or on my rest days, that's when engagement is highest. I think fans are curious about what I do when I'm not streaming. They also love behind-the-scenes stories after collaborations with other creators, and when I share little things like "we ate this together" or "we did this together."
Reading messages like "Today's stream was so fun!" or "I loved that content!" really energizes me too.
Q: How do you communicate with fans? Do you have any special fan care techniques?
Initially, I didn't put much thought into fan care, but reading handwritten letters from fans changed my perspective. I felt so moved thinking "These fans have been supporting me for so long," and I thought "I need to do better for them." After that, I wanted to share more with fans even outside of streaming hours.
So I prioritize "daily sharing" over "events." I post really simple things on Fancim M like "Here's what I ate today" or "Today's stream was so enjoyable," and fans absolutely love those posts.
I think "sustainability" is more important than feeling obligated to take care of everyone. You need that sense of showing yourself little by little each day and sharing with fans. Fancim M is the perfect tool for achieving that.
Fans get excited about features like voice recordings, but ultimately what they love is "feeling like they know a lot about me." I believe that consistently sharing everyday moments builds trust in me. If you want to communicate with fans like real friends, I believe light-hearted sincerity lasts longer than grand plans.

"Maintaining healthy boundaries while staying authentic"
Q: Have you had any difficulties from getting too close to fans?
There have been some fans who crossed lines. Occasionally, some would ask overly personal questions or screenshot conversations and create misunderstandings. Fancim M is stable in that regard too. Since it's a private 1:1 chat structure, I can take immediate action when problems arise, and recently they added a screenshot detection warning feature, which makes me feel much more secure.
I try not to create private rooms whenever possible. Existing fans might feel left out, and the space itself can feel too closed off. I think trust with fans ultimately starts from "being open."

Q: What kind of creator do you want to become?
Rather than just becoming a famous streamer, it's more important to me to keep doing what I love consistently while maintaining healthy relationships with fans. When content goes well, I want to share that joy with my fans.
I want to be "a creator who knows how to be grateful when receiving, and can give generously when giving."
